Beautifully organized collections of plants are contained in the outdoor gardens and conservatory of the George Luthy Memorial Botanical Garden. Visitors can drop in for a peaceful stroll along the garden walkways, past gardens organized by plant variety, like rose, viburnum and dwarf conifer, and browse the conservatory's gift shop; the city's parks department also runs a number of educational gardening classes and workshops through the conservatory. The gardens take up five acres of Glen Oak Park, which is near downtown and contains the Glen Oak Zoo.
Outdoor Gardens open daily 8:30 a.m. - dusk. Conservatory open Tue. - Sat.10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun. noon - 5:00 p.m.; Closed Mon.
Outdoor gardens are free. Conservatory: Adults $2; Children (2-12) $1; Children under 2 are free.
